Event Description
- Named for Helen Hayes, the legendary First Lady of the American Theatre born in Washington, DC, the awards celebrate the artists and theatre companies whose work makes Washington, DC a thriving, nationally recognized theatre community.
- The Helen Hayes Awards are traditionally celebrated each spring during a festive awards ceremony and after-party.
Highlights
- Helen Hayes Awards honor our fabulous nominees and recipients, and enjoy performances and remembrances in a celebration of where we’ve been and where we’re going as a DC-area theatre community. And after all of that, of course, a party!
- Esteemed Washington theatre artists Naomi Jacobson, Erika Rose, Holly Twyford, and Christopher Michael Richardson will host an evening showcasing the vibrant and diverse community of professional theatre artists in the Washington region. They will be joined by special guests Ryan Spahn and Michael Urie, with performances by nominees and local artists.
- Doors open at 4:30pm and dinner and the show begin at 5:30pm.
